mapSTL.com — Overture modification method, revision 1 (2026-10-16) The derived feature database is available under ODbL 1.0: https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/ This public description and executable source are the method offered under ODbL section 4.6(b). No account or payment is required. The catalogue contains the release identifier and exact original file paths, sizes and spatial bounds. The source release used by a model is preserved in its attribution/featureSource. Reviewed initial database, release 2026-09-23.1: https://stac.overturemaps.org/2026-09-23.1/catalog.json https://docs.overturemaps.org/getting-data/cloud-sources/ https://www.mapstl.com/overture-data/catalog.json Attribution and source licences: https://www.mapstl.com/licence-data/overture-attribution.txt Inputs: selected model bounds [west, south, east, north] in WGS84, and the release. Select intersecting files for building, segment, water, land_use, land_cover. Read row groups with bbox intersection, retaining inclusive boundary contacts. Land cover uses the representation with cartography.min_zoom <= 12 and cartography.max_zoom >= 12. Read only the required columns. Decode geometry only for matching rows; deduplicate by feature type and original Overture ID. Clip polygons with holes and lines to the bounds. Convert buildings to footprint extrusions with supplied height/floors or the model's existing height estimate; split transportation at linear-reference changes of flags, level and width; map surface classes to the model palette. Internal negative IDs identify these rendering records, not OSM objects. Preserve the original ID in overture:id. The exact conversion and reader are published here: https://www.mapstl.com/overture-data/v1/overture-features.js https://www.mapstl.com/overture-data/v1/overture-data.js https://www.mapstl.com/overture-data/v1/overture-range.js Runnable browser build, including dependencies and their notices: https://www.mapstl.com/overture-data/v1/overture-worker.bundle.js The model's additional steps (relative elevations, water conditioning, polygon generalisation, printable solids and optional frame) are published in: https://www.mapstl.com/js/geometry.js https://www.mapstl.com/js/worker.bundle.js Software remains under its respective licence; the derived map database is ODbL. This offer does not require the publication of private customer coordinates. Overture buildings, transportation, water and land_use permit commercial use under ODbL; land_cover permits commercial use under CC BY 4.0, with the contributor notices retained. Other themes (addresses, places), terrain bathymetry and demonstration PMTiles are not used by this adapter. A data licence does not clear architectural copyright or other rights in a particular model. Release handling: the server checks the current STAC release at most daily. Only schema 2.x with the expected collection licences and reviewed contributor terms is accepted automatically. A new major schema or changed terms requires software/licence review. No regional data download is required. Old public releases are removed by Overture after at most 60 days. Preserved derivative database: 3MF contains mapSTL/overture-data.json; the STL package contains overture-data.json. Mosaic packages retain zdrojova-data.json. These files contain the actual selected feature database and its source credits, not customer account/contact data. Preserve them when sharing the model. For physical prints, retain the source snapshot and offer recipients the derivative feature database under ODbL at no charge. Administrators can download the verified source JSON from the order, independently of the uploaded 3MF attachment. The revision-1 reader bundle and source are retained under /overture-data/v1/. Permission is granted to use, copy, modify and redistribute this published adapter and method, with its notices, to reproduce and use the derivative database. Third-party code remains under the licences included in the bundle. This grant does not relicense unrelated mapSTL.com application code.
