mapSTL OSM pack modification method v1 — 17 October 2026 This is the method of making the alterations to the original OSM database for the regional mapSTL packs listed in source-manifest.json. It is offered free of charge under Open Database License 1.0, section 4.6(b). https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/ © OpenStreetMap contributors: https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright Source extracts: Geofabrik, https://download.geofabrik.de/ The manifest retains the original extract URLs, precise OSM timestamps, input SHA-256, coverage rings, pack identifiers and output SHA-256. It is historical metadata, not the application's active manifest. The method is an alternative to downloading the retired derived database. No additional geographic content was added beyond these source extracts. Download the following files from this directory, removing the .txt suffix: build.py.txt blocks.py.txt compact.py.txt publish.py.txt They are published as plain text and are NOT executed by this website. Dependencies for local execution: Python 3, osmium 4.2.0, shapely 2.0.7, SQLite with RTree; Python standard-library gzip, json and hashlib. For each original PBF, use the source timestamp and sourceSha256 in the manifest to identify the original input; latest extracts contain newer data. The .poly file supplies the coverage rings recorded in the manifest. Run build.py --source INPUT.osm.pbf --poly INPUT.poly --output OUTPUT.osm-pack --id MANIFEST_ID --name MANIFEST_NAME --country COUNTRY --source-url MANIFEST_SOURCE_URL (The command above is one line.) build.py selects map feature tags, retains full way coordinates and relation member geometry, marks incomplete relations, removes contributor identities, and creates the settlement-name index. blocks.py supplies lossless block compression and the spatial index. compact.py documents the equivalent schema-2 to schema-3 conversion used for earlier packs. publish.py validates file contents and calculates exact unions of same-snapshot coverage regions. The scripts contain the complete predicates and transformation algorithms. Byte-level compression/SQLite layout can differ between software versions; the method describes the database contents and modifications. These files describe the regional source databases. Exported models further crop, scale and simplify geometry for printing as stated in their attribution. Overture models use the separate method at /overture-data/modifications.txt. Česky: Zachovaný úplný postup úprav a původní zdrojové údaje k regionálním balíčkům, včetně vyřazených zahraničních databází. Nejde o aktivní mapové pokrytí a nic z této složky se na hostingu nespouští. Malé soubory ponechte na FTP kvůli zdrojům dřívějších modelů. Licence: ODbL 1.0, článek 4.6b.
